What CA05 Is For

Use this form when applying for Assessment for Admission (AFA) or Continued Registration Assessment (CRA), to become registered as a Professional Engineer with PERB and a financial Member or Fellow of IEPNG.
What To Do

Update your CPD summary

Update your Continuing Professional Development Activities Summary (Form CA05) to include CPD activities over the last 3 years. Take the time to reflect on the key learning you gained, and how it impacted your practice and contributed to demonstrating your current competence.

Overseas Candidates

Demonstrating PNG-specific practice

It's important that overseas candidates undertaking a CRA show they've maintained competence in Papua New Guinea-specific good practice, through relevant CPD and work samples. The extent of CPD required depends on how much PNG-specific practice in your area has changed — in areas experiencing significant regulatory, good practice, or technology change, candidates will be expected to demonstrate a higher level of PNG-specific CPD.
How CPD Is Assessed

What matters — and what doesn't

Coverage, Not Just Volume

Taken as a whole, the CPD you present should show how you've taken reasonable steps to maintain competence across your full practice area and the full range of competence elements — not just one part of it.

Learning & Application, Not Hours

Achievement is assessed on the learning and its application — not the total hours spent. That said, meeting the standard may be difficult without at least:

50 hours/year of good quality CPD

List, in chronological order, the professional development activities you've undertaken in the last three years (or since your last assessment, if undertaking a Continued Registration Assessment) to enhance or maintain your current knowledge or skills.
