Applying to Join as a Companion

Companion status recognises individuals who, while not engineers themselves, are closely connected to the engineering profession and wish to support and engage with the work of the Institution of Engineers Papua New Guinea (IEPNG). This membership class reflects the diversity of people who contribute to engineering's success in PNG — from allied professionals to community and industry partners.

Companion status is suited to those who:

• Do not hold formal engineering qualifications, but work closely alongside engineers in a professional capacity.
• Contribute to IEPNG's work through governance, administration, education, industry partnership, or community engagement.
• Have a genuine interest in engineering and technology and wish to stay connected to the profession and its developments.
• Support engineering practice indirectly — for example through allied technical, scientific, business, legal, or academic roles.

As a Companion, you gain access to:

• IEPNG events, seminars, workshops and conferences.
• Institution publications, updates and industry knowledge.
• A professional network connecting you with engineers and organisations across Papua New Guinea.
• Opportunities to contribute your own expertise to the engineering community, without holding formal engineer registration.
