Two things your referees must meet
Known to you, with a good idea of the work or projects you're involved in.
Currently registered Professional Engineers who have already successfully undertaken the Competency Assessment themselves.
AFA vs. CRA
You fill in the form and send it to your nominated Referee to check and sign. The Referee then forwards it directly to the Assessors after endorsing the contents as true and correct.
You send the blank form to your Referee to fill in, and they send it directly to IEPNG.
You assess yourself against the twelve competence standards, putting forward evidence to your Referee. Your Referee considers that evidence and, in signing, is telling the Assessors that you are Competent as a Professional Engineer — backing your claim with their own endorsement.
