About Fellow Membership

Fellow Members represent the highest level of recognition within IEPNG membership. This class is reserved for engineers who have demonstrated sustained excellence, significant professional achievement, and outstanding contribution to the practice of engineering in Papua New Guinea. Fellows typically hold advanced tertiary qualifications and have applied their expertise at a senior professional level over an extended career, consistently upholding the highest standards of competence, integrity, and ethical conduct set out in the Institution's Code of Ethics.

Fellow status is not simply a matter of tenure — it reflects a demonstrated record of leadership, mentorship, and impact within the engineering profession, whether through technical achievement, contribution to major projects, service to the Institution, or advancement of engineering knowledge and practice more broadly.

FIEPNG

Fellows are entitled to use the designation FIEPNG, and their recognition carries weight both within PNG and among IEPNG's international affiliate bodies.

02

Role Within the Profession

Beyond individual distinction, Fellow Members play an important role in shaping the future of the profession — providing guidance to junior engineers, contributing to policy and standards development, and helping the Institution fulfil its mandate to represent, uphold, and promote engineering practice for the benefit of Papua New Guinea.
